Our Basic Life Support (BLS) is the required course for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR with high quality hands-on skills like chest compressions, early use of an AED and how to relieve choking in a timely manner. This course will cover the following topics:
• Adult Chain of Survival
• Adult CPR
• Pocket Mask/Ventilation Techniques
• Automated External Defibrilator (AED)
• Bag Mask device
• 2-Rescuer Adult/Child/Infant CPR
• Team dynamics
• Child and Infant CPR
• Choking Adult/Child/Infant
The American Heart Association requires that each student has a course manual available during and after class. The student may use a current manual from a previous course or they may purchase now and receive it at class time. The student may also purchase a provider manual in person at class time.
This course requires approximately 4 hours of instructor training to complete, including skills practice and skills testing.
Physical cards are no longer issued by the American Heart Association. Within 24-48 hrs after successful completion of the BLS course each student will receive an email from the American heart Association with a link to claim and download their eCard.
This American Heart Association certification is valid for 2 years
